Mujtaba Qazi, MD

PRESIDENT APPNA NAMA

Dr. Mujtaba Qazi is the Director of Clinical Studies at Pepose Vision Institute. He is a board-certified subspecialist in cornea and refractive surgery. Dr. Qazi received his Bachelor of Arts from NYU College of Arts & Science and his Medical Doctorate from NYU School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Boston University School of Medicine and subspecialty training in cornea and refractive surgery at Pepose Vision Institute, Saint Louis, Missouri.

He has been an active member of the Greater St. Louis APPNA Chapter, having served as Chapter President and Trustee. He has been a member of the APPNA Social Welfare Disaster Relief (SWDR) and Medical Corps (AMC)

Tayyib Rana, MD

PRESIDENT ELECT

Dr. Tayyib Rana is a world-class eye surgeon and physician who strives to ensure that all his patients receive the best treatments. Dr. Rana travels extensively to teach and is continuously learning the latest treatments in eye care. This makes Northern Virginia Eye Institute a cutting-edge center of excellence.

Dr. Rana was also amongst the first eye surgeons in the country and the very first in the Shenandoah Valley to perform TECNIS Multifocal, TECNIS Symfony, TECNIS Toric, Alcon PanOptix, Alcon Vivity, and TECNIS Eyhance lens implants, as well as the sophisticated Glaucoma treatments of Glaukos iStent and the Allergan Durysta implant.

Samia Piracha, MD

SECRETARY

Samia Piracha, MD is a board-certified radiologist and partner at Fairfax Radiology Consultants. She specializes in women’s imaging and has been practicing in Northern Virginia and Maryland since 2006. Originally, Dr Piracha is from West Virginia and trained at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. In the past, she has served as APPNA DMV’s Treasurer, Secretary, and President and has been on multiple APPNA National committees. Dr. Piracha’s goal is to use APPNA and its chapters as a platform to serve the community’s needs.

Shamail Tariq, MD

TREASURER

Dr. Shamail Tariq, MD is a Cardiology Specialist in Festus, MO and has over 13 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Tariq has more experience with Interventional Cardiac Procedures than other specialists in his area. He graduated from University of Missouri / Kansas City Campus medical school in 2008. He is affiliated with medical facilities such as Mercy Hospital Jefferson and Saint Alexius Hospital.

Azhar Majeed, MD

Dr. Azhar Majeed, MD, MBA, FACP, is an Internal Medicine specialist in Upland, California. He attended and graduated from medical school in 1998, having over 23 years of diverse experience, especially in Internal Medicine. He is affiliated with many hospitals including Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, San Antonio Community Hospital.
